Ephesians 1:11-12 (MSG), "It’s in Christ that we find out who we are and what we are
living for. Long before we first heard of Christ and got our hopes up, he had
his eye on us, had designs on us for glorious living, part of the overall
purpose he is working out in everything and everyone."
Relationship woes can sometimes be the catalyst behind what drives us closer to our purpose in God. Desiring to be somewhere and with someone that God never meant for us to be with. The deep yearning for love, acceptance and the need for validation is only the symptom of a deeper issue - the lack of the presence of God. The absence of direction from the Holy Spirit causes an unmistakable void, that will sometimes lead you down the wrong road. What you are really searching for is your destiny - your destiny within the love of Christ.
Psalms 34:8 (NLT), "Taste and see that the Lord is good. Oh, the joys of those who take refuge in him!"
No one can
tell you how to trust in Him, it’s something you have to see for yourself. You
have to witness and taste the goodness of the Lord in order to truly know it
for yourself. Even the most seasoned Christian will face difficulty, but it is
the trust in the Lord that will cause you to triumph when defeat seems
inevitable.
I understand so many people are faced with challenges
very similar to this but there has to be a more effective way to see your way
out of anything that will separate you from God’s love. And holding on to something so tight doesn’t
give you room to grow and it will certainly inhibit you from seeing a brighter
future for yourself. Holding on to
something so tight is a sure sign of how much of God’s love and light needs to
be shed in its place. The weighty
problems of your life can easily slow you down if you are too afraid to let go,
and many of us try to hold on but we have to trust God and let it all fall to
the ground.
Nothing should separate you from your destiny or from
the promises of God, not past hurts, pain or heartache. Emotional setbacks like these will only
perpetuate bitterness and strife in your life.
Philippians 3:13, NLT;
Brethren, I do not count myself to have apprehended; but one thing [I do],
forgetting those things which are behind and reaching forward to those things
which are ahead, 14, I press toward the goal for the prize of the upward call
of God in Christ Jesus.
People tend to cling to
the past because it’s easier to believe that your best days have past you by,
when in fact, your better days are before you.
We have the power to make our days better and brighter, by trusting in
the power of God within us to make a change.
It’s easier to stay comfortable because it’s familiar to you and doesn’t require much effort. You probably insist on talking your way out of. You might say to yourself, “I’m too tired”, or “It’s not going to make a difference,” or “why should I”. Nothing ever gets better with this kind of attitude, instead it keeps you away from the challenge that God has put before you. The joy comes from realizing we can’t do it without God and He doesn’t want us to, He wants us to whole heartedly trust in Him.
