God Will Show You What He Can Do!

It’s natural for us to place our highest hopes in something—or someone—we believe will make life better. Whether it's a relationship, a new job, better health, or financial breakthrough, we pour our energy and expectations into things we believe will fulfill us. And the truth is, we were created to desire good things. Jesus makes it clear in John 10:10 (NKJV), “The thief does not come except to steal, and to kill, and to destroy. I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly.”

That’s the heart of our Redeemer. He didn’t just come to save us—He came to bless us with a life that’s rich, full, and overflowing. We crave that kind of life—a deep relationship with God, peace in our homes, good health, purpose-filled work, and enough overflow to bless others. And because we believe those blessings are within reach, we start making plans to grab hold of them.

But here’s the tension: disappointment sets in when we reach for the blessing and realize we lack the spiritual strength or maturity to truly take hold of it.

Disappointment is a heavy emotion. It’s not just a passing feeling—it can plant roots if we’re not careful. If we don’t know how to handle it, disappointment can start to feel like rejection. Instead of taking it to God and asking Him to teach and strengthen us, many of us internalize our disappointment as a ‘no’—when in reality, it’s a lesson in surrender. It’s God’s gentle way of saying, “Let Me lead.”

When our faith isn’t quite where it needs to be, the answer isn’t to fall back into frustration, fear, or settling. The answer is found in Matthew 6:33 (NLT): “Seek the Kingdom of God above all else, and live righteously, and he will give you everything you need.” So if you’re wondering whether something needs to shift in your life for your plans to be fulfilled—the answer is yes.
If you’re wondering whether surrendering to the Holy Spirit’s guidance is necessary—the answer is absolutely. If you're asking whether your plans need to align with God's purpose—the answer is without question.

Living out your God-given destiny requires agreement with His direction. Amos 3:3 asks, “Can two people walk together without agreeing on the direction?” The answer is no—they can’t. And the same goes for us and God. He wants unity. He wants alignment and oneness with His purpose. This is the faith and believing that allows you to rest in His peace while He shows you  what He can do—what He’s willing to do out of His great love for  you.

In Colossians 2:7 (NLT), we’re told, “Let your roots grow down into him, and let your lives be built on him. Then your faith will grow strong in the truth you were taught, and you will overflow with thankfulness.” That’s the goal: to be rooted in Christ so deeply that the noise of disappointment doesn’t knock us down, and the enemy’s distractions don’t pull us off course.

When this becomes our priority—when we stop chasing blessings and start chasing Him—God will blow our minds. He’ll exceed every plan, surpass every hope, and outdo every dream. So give yourself this gift: put your plans in His hands. Let Him lead. Let Him shape. Let Him stretch your faith. And watch what He will do.

The Enemy Thought He Had Me

From the very beginning, the enemy thought he had won. The moment Eve bit into that forbidden fruit—the one God warned Adam not to touch—he thought, Got ‘em. What he didn’t see coming was that even in that very moment, God’s plan was already in motion. Redemption wasn’t an afterthought. It was the plan from the start.

Ephesians 1:4–5 (NLT) reminds us, “Even before He made the world, God loved us and chose us in Christ to be holy and without fault in His eyes. God decided in advance to adopt us into His own family by bringing us to Himself through Jesus Christ. This is what He wanted to do, and it gave Him great pleasure.” Long before the first sin, before the serpent slithered onto the scene, God had already chosen to love us and bring us into His family through Jesus Christ.

Before time even had a name, God knew. He knew sin would creep in. He knew we'd fall. And He already had the solution: our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. The enemy really thought he could throw off God’s plan, but newsflash—God’s Will doesn’t fumble. His strategy for salvation has been unfolding since the beginning, flawless and unshaken. Every move the enemy made only served to push God's divine Will forward. Nothing satan did, and nothing he does now, can ever override the victory already won through Jesus Christ.

The beautiful thing about our Heavenly Father is that no matter how many mistakes we make, they never derail His plan and purpose. Even when we stumble, fall, or flat-out disobey, God’s plan doesn’t fall apart. It holds. His purpose remains. He’s not shocked by our missteps. He doesn’t abandon us. Instead, He offers redemption, realignment, and restoration.

Romans 8:28 (NLT) anchors us in this truth: “And we know that God causes everything to work together for the good of those who love God and are called according to His purpose for them.” Everything—your failures, your pain, your detours—everything can be used by God for your good when you love Him and align yourself with His call.

Nothing the enemy tries can cancel what God has declared over your life. That’s where our confidence must rest. Romans 8:37 declares, “No, despite all these things, overwhelming victory is ours through Christ, who loved us.” We are not just survivors—we are more than conquerors. The devil can throw all he has, but it still won’t be enough to stop God’s plan.

Proverbs 19:21 (NLT) puts it this way: “You can make many plans, but the Lord’s purpose will prevail.” Our lives may take unexpected turns. People may disappoint us. We may take wrong steps. But God’s purpose? It remains steady. It was never built on our perfection—it’s secured by His sovereignty.

Deceitful and relentless, the enemy may think he has a grip on us. But don’t get it twisted: God is always working behind the scenes. He is always guiding, always redeeming, always setting things in place. He sees the full picture, and nothing escapes His view. Not your heartbreak. Not your struggle. Not your fear. So even when it feels like the enemy has the upper hand—even when you’re weary and worn—know this: the enemy does not have the final say. Jesus does. Don’t be afraid. Take heart in Christ. Watch as God takes what the enemy meant to destroy you and uses it to display His glory through your life.

It Will Make You Stronger

We’re not the answer—but He is. Jesus Christ is the solution to every question, every ache, every struggle we face. Life has a way of holding up a mirror to what we truly believe. And whether we realize it or not, our lives will always follow the direction of our beliefs. That’s why Proverbs 4:23 (NKJV) urges us, “Keep your heart with all diligence, for out of it spring the issues of life.”

Guarding your heart is more than just avoiding drama or staying positive. It’s about praying with boldness and real faith, standing on the promises God has spoken over our lives. It’s also about watching carefully what you let in—and what you allow to stay in your heart. We have to choose to believe that Christ is our unshakable joy, our steady hope, and the ultimate fulfillment of who we were always meant to be. He’s our blueprint—the full expression of everything God created you and me to become.

Romans 8:37 (NLT) says, “No, despite all these things, overwhelming victory is ours through Christ, who loved us.” That means no matter how many setbacks, heartbreaks, or silent battles you’ve faced, you’re not a victim—you’re victorious. Not because of who you are, but because of who He is in you. This is the kind of strength that’s birthed in love—His love.

And this strength we gain through Christ isn’t just for getting by—it’s for becoming. Becoming more like Him. More rooted. More whole. More healed. 2 Corinthians 4:16 (NLT) reminds us, “That is why we never give up. Though our bodies are dying, our spirits are being renewed every day.” Even when life feels like it’s wearing you down, He’s building you up from the inside out.

When you trust in who God has made you in Christ, and you grab hold of Him with both hands—deciding that nothing matters more than our Heavenly Father—that’s when something shifts. You start living from a place of power, not panic. Peace, not pressure. That’s how our faith in Him is strengthened, and that’s why we can walk in His strength, knowing He’s backing us. This is why we can stand strong and steady in a storm and not break under the weight of waiting—because we know He will never fail us.

That kind of strength? It’s not about grinding harder. It’s about surrendering deeper. And once you start walking in that level of spiritual clarity—living by His Spirit, not just your own strength—you’ll look back and realize: that the trial didn’t break you. It built you. It made you stronger. And through Christ, you’ll stay strong, steady, and unshakable.

Prayer

Dear Father God,
Thank You for being my strength when I feel weak, my peace in the middle of chaos, and my anchor when life shakes everything around me. I confess that I’ve tried to do things my way. I’ve leaned on my own understanding and let fear, pride, and doubt sit in places only You belong.

Please forgive me for every sin—known and unknown. Cleanse my heart, Lord. Wash me with the blood of Jesus Christ and make me new. I don’t want anything in me to block what You’re trying to build. I want to walk in step with You, in freedom and truth.

Help me guard my heart the way Your Word tells me to. Let my thoughts be shaped by truth, not fear. Let my identity be rooted in Christ, not in what I’ve been through. Renew my spirit every day, Lord. Remind me that I am not defeated—I am victorious through Jesus.

Make me strong in the places where I’ve felt broken. Let my life reflect Your power, not just my survival. Teach me how to trust You deeper, follow You closer, and walk in the fullness of who You’ve called me to be. In every trial, let me say with confidence: this is building me. This is making me stronger in You.

In the precious and powerful name of Jesus Christ, I pray, amen. ■
